[How-to]Auto-update: no need to download new versions yourself

Max Flight Deck keeps itself up to date.

  1. Every time it starts, it asks the server for a new version. If there is one, it downloads it, verifies the signature and switches over automatically in about 1 minute. Tablets don't need to reconnect.
  2. While the program is running, it checks every 30 minutes. When a new version is found, it waits until the tablets have been idle for 1 minute before switching, so it never cuts out mid-flight.
  3. To try new features early, choose "Beta (early access)" in "Settings → Version and updates".

Open the program from the Start menu or a shortcut. If you open an old copy left in your Downloads folder, it switches to the installed new version automatically.

[Troubleshooting] I press buttons on the tablet but the aircraft doesn't respond

  1. Look at the "Community add-on" row on the main window's Home. If it says "Installed, but MSFS didn't load it this time", restart MSFS once.
  2. The avionics must be powered on; buttons only work when the screens show a picture.
  3. In "Diagnostics", run the self-test. It takes about 5 seconds and tells you which channel has a problem.
